Tan Apricot and White Explained
A Tan Apricot and White: carries the Gene Formula (ayBCdEgmrsi/spt). It  will re-produce itself Only when bred to a dog that is the same color or to one that carries the blue (d) gene and the tan (ay) gene. This color is the same formula as Tan Apricot with the exception of carrying a different gene that produces varying amounts of white. If your dog is Tan Apricot and White the (S) gene would be replaced with one of these White producing gene patterns, (si, or sp) in any combination. For more info see White Chart.
The presence of the (d) gene is what dilutes the tan down to a color that is apricot in appearance. It is sometimes confused with the color Apricot or Chocolate Apricot in various breeds but differs in formula and will not produce a true Apricot. The dogs can range in color from a light tan to a soft apricot.
