Wheaten Explained
A Wheaten Dog carries the Gene Formula (ayBCDegmrSt). This color is recessive in nature and will re-produce itself Only when bred to a dog that is the same color. Typically this color is seen in the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. The pups are born dark tan in color and turn a light wheat color as they mature. The base color of this dog is tan and is further reduced to the light wheat color by the actions of the (cch) gene and the (e) restrictive gene.
