Creme Explained
A Creme Dog carries the Gene Formula (A,ay,atBCCchDegmrsp,sw). This color is recessive in nature and will re-produce itself Only when bred to a dog that is the same color or to one that carries the Black color restrictive (e) gene and the Chinchilla (Cch) gene. When a dog has the (Cch) gene the dog is born a dark color and turns creme as it matures. Generally the dog is another color by the time it reaches 8 weeks of age. Most dogs that are this color also have white genes that allow a lot of white to form on the coat. A dog that has the (A) gene underneath a Creme colored dog (which is the color for black) also carries the restrictive (e) gene which reduces the black color to a red or tan color then the (cch) gene further lightens the coat.
