Clear Red/Mahogany Explained
A Clear Red/Mahogany Dog carries the Gene Formula (ABCDegmrSt). This color is recessive in nature and will re-produce itself Only when bred to a dog that is the same color or to one that carries the restrictive color (e) gene. This gene restricts black pigment from forming and if it wasn't present in double dose the dog would be a black dog. It is this (e) gene that reduces the color of the dog to a red color and leaves no traces of black hair at all. It is the same formula as a Clear Lemon dog but appears as a red color in shades from light clear red to deep Mahogany light  color rather than a Lemon color. This is due to the modifying genes that the dog carries and is generally breed specific. It is genetically called the orange, lemon and red colors. The coat color is very clean and crisp appearing with very uniform color throughout the dogs coat. In the breed Pointer it is called Orange.
